安托萬·德·聖埃剋蘇佩裏（Antoine de Saint-Exupery, 1900-1944）1900年6月29日齣生在法國裏昂。他曾經有誌於報考海軍學院，未能如願，卻有幸成瞭空軍的一員。1923年退役後，先後從事過各種不同的職業。1926年，聖埃剋蘇佩裏進入拉泰科埃爾航空公司。在此期間，齣版小說《南方郵件》（1929）、《夜航》（1931），從此他在文學上聲譽鵲起。1939年，又一部作品《人的大地》問世。第二次世界大戰期間他重入法國空軍。後輾轉去紐約開始流亡生活。在這期間，寫齣《空軍飛行員》、《給一個人質的信》、《小王子》（1943）等作品。1944年返迴同盟國地中海空軍部隊。在當年7月31日的一次飛行任務中，他駕駛飛機飛上湛藍的天空，就此再也沒有迴來。
