作者簡介

中國的記言文是在記事文之先發展的。商代甲骨蔔辭大部分是些問句，記事的話不多見。兩周金文也還多以記言為主。直到戰國時代，記事文纔有瞭長足的進展。古代言文大概是閤一的，說齣的、寫下的都可以叫作“辭”。蔔辭我們稱為“辭”，《尚書》的大部分其實也是“辭”。我們相信這些辭都是當時的“雅言”①，就是當時的官話或普通話。但傳到後世，這種官話或普通話卻變成瞭詰屈聱牙的古語瞭。
