作者簡介

Syd Hoff was born and raised in New York City. He studied at the National Academy of Design and sold his first cartoon to The New Yorker when he was eighteen. He eventually became one of the most original and beloved authors and illustrators of children's books. Mr. Hoff wrote more than fifty books for children, including the I Can Read titles Danny and the Dinosaur, Oliver, and Sammy the Seal.

"After a long sea voyage, Oliver the elephant gets off the boat and learns that he doesn't have a job in the circus. He heads out seeking employment first at the zoo and then as a peanut vendor. Neither works out, so he tries being a pet. Finally Oliver heads to the park where he meets a group of kids. After playing awhile, they all contemplate what they would like to do. Oliver, who wants to be a dancing elephant, starts to strut his stuff. He is so good that people don't pay attention to the passing circus parade. Finally Oliver gets the job that he wants and deserves. The text is simple and the illustrations are a delight, but the book is a bit long for kids just starting to read. Amelia Bedelia係列的Level2基本都在60多頁，內容上比其他的Level2的要稍多些，寶貝正在裸聽Hengry and Mudge係列，Amelia Bedelia要是有全套音頻就好瞭，隻可惜網上的音頻不全。

給女兒囤的英文繪本，很好的原版書，活動買還是很劃算的。書本身印刷非常漂亮，每張圖片提供的訊息也十分的充足。完全可以理解這套書的作者們希望這套書可以增加小朋友哪些方麵的學習能力。現在孩子還小，是用中文講給她聽，目前還不是很喜歡，希望以後能喜歡。
