##大老板的书，坦白说很久没有读这样回忆录的书籍了，而Out of Gobi更多的是平白口语话的叙述，很难探究其间他对于这种历史背景的感情，但也可能，作为历史的一份子，几十年后其实大概就是这种淡然的心态了。 一个同事在amazon书评下说到有趣的一点，单总和圣上几乎是同龄人，经历过大抵类似的时代洪流，很多人都会低估这一代人的坚韧。 Shan的职业生涯回过头来看真的是非常的先苦后甜，当然没有在戈壁的困苦煎熬也没有后期来到美国后求学时候的勤勉刻苦，后面的贵人相助和诸多际遇实际也是德配其位的，真的很了不起。说起来有的时候Shan群发公司邮件依然会分享一些关于经济政治的看法，其实很有助益，可一些本地同事会有些不屑一顾，真的很浅薄
评分##Fascinating life journey from 1954 to early 1990s. 有时现实比故事更夸张 佩服作者的耐性敢想敢做。知识可以改变命运 但也抵不过造化弄人。
评分##事无巨细但绝不枯燥的回忆录，单老板有如今的江湖地位也是该当。观察学习思考能力算最基本的，即使在绝地困境下也能尽力突破（学医、研究砖泥搅拌机、搞好人缘、说服学校量身定制课程、多方奔走解决妻子赴美和签证问题等等），也有奇妙的际遇和善缘（Jefferson Starship的签名唱片！）。时势波澜写得也好，个人命题里做不了太深入探讨，但足够全面客观。

评分##读完了老单的前40年，一本流水账。这是一条多么漫长、曲折、湍急的流水啊。想想踏足其中，也让人多少胆寒。老单是一个聪明绝顶的斗士（想想一个把每人都变成斗士的时代也挺操蛋的），是任何时代都少之又少的精英层。不过在书最后一页，老单试图说，在这条激流里跋涉、一步走错，他也可能就是因为恋爱而入狱，并再找不到出戈壁之路的兵团战友“二狗”。
