A married couple were veryworried about their son. Althoughnormal in every other way, heseemed to be dumb. Not once hadhe spoken and now he was sixyears of age.
They had tried everything toget him to speak, but with nosuccess.
The finest doctors in the country had examined him, but couldfind nothing wrong with his throat. He seemed to be a veryintelligent child. It was just that he never spoke.
"Its possible," one of the doctors said, "that there ssomething wrong with his mind, and he does not understand thathe is capable of speech."
"But he can read and write " the boys father said. "Wevewritten him notes, telling him that he can speak, begging him tospeak."
"Its certainly very strange," the doctor said "Perhaps hellgrow out of his silence one day."
The years passed. The boy left grade school and went tohighschool. He left high school and went to college. But he did notspeak a single word.
