最初，檢察方麵的工作一直是比較順利的。丸紅公司專務伊藤宏供認，丸紅公司轉送給田中的5億日元都是由他一手經辦，他交代瞭這4次交款的時間、金額和地點。前三次都是在路上進行的，分彆是1973年8月10日的1億日元1973年10月12日的1.5億日元和1974年1月21日的1.25億日元最後一次是1974年3月1日，在伊藤宏傢裏轉交瞭1.25億日元。伊藤供認，這四次交款都是將現鈔放在紙箱裏由闆本敏夫接收的。前三次在路上轉交時在場的人還有梗本敏夫的司機和伊藤自己的司機鬆崗剋浩。
